  1. An organized group which are sent forth, or to embark upon a voyage, march, etc. for some specific purpose such as exploration or battle.
  2. A journey for such a purpose.
  3. The group that undertakes such a journey and the vehicles, equipment, etc. on such a journey.
  4. Promptness. Efficient speed in performance; dispatch.
